Virtual showcase unites Asia’s startup leaders through AI and SaaS breakthroughs

The Asia Startup Expo 2025 will return on June 25 as a fully virtual event, connecting early-stage startups, venture investors, and tech accelerators from across the region. With a sharper focus on artificial intelligence, SaaS platforms, and consumer tech, this year’s expo expects to host over 250 exhibiting startups, 50+ investor panels, and an audience of more than 20,000 virtual attendees.

Jointly organized by leading innovation hubs—including Singapore’s ACE, Indonesia’s KUMPUL, and South Korea’s D.CAMP—the event showcases how Asia’s startup scene is evolving from early growth to global impact. Under the theme “Scaling Innovation for a Smarter Asia,” the expo highlights the continent’s role in building future-ready, cross-border technologies.

A digital-first stage for regional innovation

First launched during the pandemic in 2020, Asia Startup Expo has grown into one of the region’s most important digital tech events. Now in its fifth year, the 2025 edition comes at a time when funding is flowing back into key growth areas—especially enterprise automation, climate tech, and generative AI tools.

According to CB Insights, Asia recorded $49 billion in venture funding in Q1 2025, up 18% from the previous year. A large portion of that capital is being directed toward startups building scalable B2B platforms and AI-powered infrastructure, which form the heart of this year’s showcase.

Previous expos helped startups like Vietnam’s Timo and India’s HealthifyMe gain global attention. The 2025 cohort includes first-time participants from Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Central Asia—extending the event’s geographic footprint and deepening its diversity.

AI and SaaS drive regional growth

A key feature of this year’s Expo is the AI Pavilion, where 80+ startups will showcase tools across natural language processing, computer vision, and predictive analytics. One standout, Singapore-based KodeAlpha, will unveil its customer support automation suite, tailored for fast-scaling e-commerce firms.

Jakarta’s Intellihire is another highlight. The company, which serves over 300 Southeast Asian SMEs, will present its new AI-based hiring platform designed for remote teams.

In the SaaS Pavilion, Hong Kong’s BillionForms will demonstrate its secure onboarding system for fintech firms. RegTech and compliance automation are seeing a spike in demand, making B2B SaaS one of the most resilient verticals during economic uncertainty.

Top venture capital firms—like Gobi Partners, Sequoia Surge, and Golden Gate Ventures—will host pitch rounds, while innovation hubs from South Korea and Japan will announce accelerator cohorts during the event.

Startup ecosystems become more connected

This year’s Expo captures a bigger trend in Asia’s startup story—the rise of interconnected innovation networks. While hubs like Singapore and Bengaluru still dominate funding, cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dhaka, and Ulaanbaatar are now producing globally competitive startups.

Cross-border co-development is becoming common. Many teams work across countries to build and launch products faster. This approach helps founders navigate Asia’s complex legal and infrastructure challenges with more agility.

Virtual-first formats are also reshaping access. Founders from underserved or remote regions can now pitch to global investors, bypassing the barriers of location or capital. The Expo is closing the visibility gap and creating a more inclusive startup narrative.

This year’s event also features a Women in Tech forum, supported by JETRO (Japan) and MaGIC (Malaysia), spotlighting female founders and inclusive entrepreneurship.

Asia’s startups prepare for global scale

Organizers of Asia Startup Expo plan to evolve the platform into a launchpad for global expansion. New features include smart matching tools to connect startups with investors based on sector and growth stage. Tech partners like AWS Activate, Stripe Atlas, and HubSpot for Startups are offering up to $150,000 in benefits—including cloud credits, mentorship, and tools.

As Asia’s startup founders begin to prioritize regulatory compliance, vertical specialization, and green innovation, they are well positioned to lead the next era of emerging market entrepreneurship.

With the Expo serving as a focal point for these ambitions, it is set to become a must-watch on the global innovation calendar—both as a showcase and as a catalyst for Asia’s digital transformation.

Asia’s startup economy steps onto the world stage

Asia Startup Expo 2025 is more than a virtual event—it is a signal of where the region is headed. By bringing together AI pioneers, SaaS builders, and global investors, the Expo is shaping how the world sees Asia’s role in future tech.

As founders pitch, demo, and network on June 25, the message is clear: Asia’s new generation of entrepreneurs isn’t waiting to catch up—they are building the future, today.
